The Society's largest district

Canada, where English and French are the official languages, is geographically both the world's second largest country and the largest district of the SSPX.

Currently, there are 19 priests, 7 oblate sisters, one brother, and a considerable staff of employees and volunteers working together to spread the faith throughout this expansive country.

The SSPX has established five priories across Canada, located in

  • St-Césaire (Montreal)
  • Toronto
  • Winnipeg
  • Calgary
  • Vancouver

From these priories, the priests travel to another 25 locations where they offer mass for the faithful, administer the sacraments, teach catechism, and generally care for souls. Additionally, around 250 students attend the Society schools in Lévis (Québec), New Hamburg (Ontario) and Calgary (Alberta). Finally, the Residence of the Precious Blood in Lévis serves as a retirement home for the elderly who want to benefit from a truly Catholic environment and prepare their souls well to meet God.

A retreat house was also recently opened in St-Césaire, offering a beautiful new setting for the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. The faithful are welcome to come here for a week, escape the busy world, and focus on their spiritual growth, guided by two priests using the time-honored method of the great founder of the Jesuits.

Catholic faith in its integrity

In all these SSPX priories, schools, and chapels only the traditional Latin mass is celebrated, following the century-old rite of the Catholic Church. The sacraments are, likewise, only administered in their traditional forms, and the Catholic faith is taught without compromise, in its entirety and integrity.

The SSPX also encourages vital expressions of the Catholic faith in the community at large. Therefore, it organizes processions, pilgrimages, youth groups (including the Eucharistic Crusade), boys and girls summer camps, an altar servers guild, Third Order meetings, and Legion of Mary initiatives, just to name a few.

We warmly welcome everyone seeking the Catholic faith into our communities. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the Society's priests at any time. We hope to welcome you soon into our spiritual family!
