Trust in God in the midst of the struggles and sufferings of this life is the thought that dominates all of today's liturgy.
It emerges from the reading of the story of David in the Breviary as well as from an episode in the life of St. Peter, whose feast day is near, for it is these two very different elements that inspired the choice of the different pieces of the Mass.
