In order to accommodate our faithful, while complying with the limitation of 30% of capacity, we will adjust some Mass times and add extra Masses on Sunday as follows:

CO-VID lock-down rules: Assistance at Mass is by lottery on this app or call Mrs Rugman or Fr. Bélisle to book a ticket. You can also use this other app to book a time for confession and communion on the days when there is a Mass in Orillia. On Sundays, communions and confessions are possible from 10 am until 6 pm, for the other days the time will vary. Again, call Mrs Rugman or Fr Bélisle if you have difficulty doing a booking, but do not come to church without a booking. Announcements

Holidays of obligation. Christmas Day and January 1 are holidays of obligation in Canada. As such, there is no obligation to do abstinence on those days, but we need to honour God and abstain from servile work, even if we cannot go to Mass. Live-streamed Masses are available on the YouTube channel “SSPX Church of the Transfiguration”.

COVID-19 rules. Please do pay attention to follow the provincial or local rules concerning the limitation of the spread of COVID-19 while in our properties. We do not want to have to stop saying the Mass because of carelessness that could have been avoided. The lock-down will affect all of us for most of the month, so let’s pay attention to not linger on church property after we come for confessions and communions.

Prayer Crusade. Please pick-up one of the sheet if you have not done so already to help you in keeping track of the Rosaries said for the intentions of the Crusade: the freedom to celebrate and attend Holy Mass and for Vocations.

Adult catechism. You can register for online catechism (YouTube videos) by Fr Boulet. Click here to register.

Holy Hour for the New Year in Orillia. Due to the lock-down, we will not have an Holy Hour on New Year Day, as liturgical rules asks for more than 10 people to expose the Blessed Sacrament. Please pray at home and you can come during the day for confessions and communions and a visit to the Blessed Sacrament.

Bookstore. There is a selection of books for sale in Orillia, but you can also order online at the Toronto bookstore and the priests can bring your order to your mission the next time they come. St. Michael’s Bookstore at https://stmichaelsbookstor.wixsite.com/stmichaelsbookstore. You can browse the site, then email the bookstore your order and ask them to give to the priest coming your way.

Remember in your prayers the souls of all the faithful departed but especially those of deceased parishioners and relatives that have passed away in January: Keith Van Nest (2010); Alois Freundorfer (2015). Please have also a special intention for the souls of Inghilt Leicht (who passed away December 2) and Brother Gabriel Le Nhu (the first brother in the SSPX, he lived all his religious life in Ecône and passed away from COVID complications December 18).

Prayers for the sick. At time of writing, Father Yves Normandin is dying in Shawinigan. If yourself or anybody in your near family is sick, you can give me a name and I will post it here for 2 months, except if you renew the request.

Eucharistic Crusade intention for the month. In January 2021, the intention given by the General Superior is: to thank God for the graces received by the SSPX over the past fifty years.
