This year, once again, the Society of St. Pius X went for a pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Canadian Martyrs in Midland, Ontario.

On Friday September 27, led by Fr. Couture and Fr. Kimball, some courageous men walked following the path of the “Martyrs’ Shrine Pilgrim Route”, from Orillia to Coldwater.

On Saturday September 28, the main gathering of faithful started with a solemn high Mass, celebrated at St. Ignace II, the actual location of the martyrdom of St. Jean de Brébeuf and St. Gabriel Lallemant.  Mass was celebrated by Fr. Karl Pepping, visiting from SSPX Australia, who was assisted by Fr. Kimball from Michigan, and Fr. MacGillivray from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in New Hamburg.

Then, being refreshed in their souls and their bodies, the pilgrims were full of energy to carry the last 16 kilometers of the pilgrimage, and arrived at the basilica of Midland, where they were able to venerate the relics of the Martyrs.

Everybody was being refreshed in his faith, and dedication to carry on with the duties of Christian Life, following the example of the Canadian Martyrs.
