What is the birth of the Lord?

If Christ stooped so low, it was not for His own benefit, but for ours; it was to justify us and consequently to give us peace and happiness. It is the Wisdom of God showing Himself in the form of a child; it is the Word of God making inarticulate sounds heard in the flesh. But this hidden God will know how to make himself bear witness from heaven before the Magi, and be announced to the shepherds by the voice of the angels. So today we celebrate the anniversary of the day on which this prophecy is fulfilled: "The Truth has risen on earth, and righteousness has looked down upon us from heaven". The Truth that is in the womb of the Father has risen on earth, to be also in the womb of a mother. The Truth that carries the world has risen on the earth to be carried in the hands of a woman. The Truth that feeds the unalterable happiness of the angels from her, rose on the earth to live on the milk of a mother. The Truth that cannot be contained in heaven rose on earth to be placed in a stable.
